The Room Noir Journal is the editorial and educational side of The Room Noir Project. Here you’ll find the stories behind the photographs, the people and places that shape each project, and the creative process that happens before, during and after a shoot.

The Journal explores contemporary fine art photography, artistic nude photography, portraiture, fashion, visual storytelling and film, along with the realities of building a creative life around the camera.

Some stories focus on a particular model, location or photography project. Others explore the techniques, creative decisions and lessons behind the work. You’ll also find travel stories, behind-the-scenes perspectives, photography education, gear and production insights, and reflections on life as a working photographer and filmmaker.

Many Journal stories are connected to Room Noir films and YouTube episodes, allowing the same project to be experienced through both written and visual storytelling.

As Room Noir continues to evolve, the Journal will also become a place to learn the craft behind the work, including the creative process, lighting, directing, photographing the human form and the art of creating fine art nude photography.
