About Room Noir | Contemporary Fine Art Photography
My name is Klaye, and I am the creator of The Room Noir Project.
Room Noir began as a desire for creative freedom. Over time, it became something much larger. Today, it is an ongoing exploration of beauty, desire, identity, intimacy and human expression through contemporary fine art photography, film and visual storytelling.
By nature, I have always been fascinated by people. By how we express ourselves in the physical world. Through our style, movement, vulnerability, creativity, the stories we choose to tell and the parts of ourselves we choose to reveal. That curiosity sits at the heart of everything I create.
The Room Noir Project exists as a space for artistic exploration without rigid boundaries or predetermined outcomes. Some projects may be sensual in nature. Others may be rugged and rough around the edges. Some may live entirely within photography, while others unfold through film, books, writing or experimental forms of visual storytelling.
The medium is never the destination for me. The exploration is.
At its core, Room Noir is about human expression. It is about the tension between vulnerability and confidence. Intimacy and power. Beauty and mystery. The seen and the unseen. Each editorial, photograph, film and collection is an attempt to explore those ideas through imagery and story.
A Project Built Around Creative Freedom
Room Noir was created to give me the freedom to explore the subjects, people and ideas that inspire me without being confined to a single genre or predetermined definition of what photography should be.
Contemporary fine art photography gives me a foundation, but the work can move in many directions. Portraiture, fashion, artistic nude photography, sensual imagery and experimental photography can all become part of the same creative conversation when the focus remains on the person, the story and the idea behind the image.
For me, the photograph is only one part of the process. The location, the collaboration, the light, the conversation and everything that happens before and after the camera is raised can influence the final work.
That freedom is one of the reasons Room Noir continues to evolve.
Exploring the Human Form Through Photography
The human form has always been an important part of the visual language of Room Noir.
Artistic nude photography allows me to explore the body not simply as a subject, but as a form of expression. Vulnerability, confidence, intimacy, strength, movement and identity can all exist within the same image.
The goal is not simply to photograph the human body. It is to create photographs that say something about the person in front of the camera and the relationship between subject, photographer, environment and viewer.
That approach extends beyond nude photography into portraiture, fashion and other forms of contemporary photographic art. What connects the work is an interest in human expression and the many ways people choose to present themselves to the world.

Beyond Photography
Although Room Noir began with photography, I don’t see it as a photography project alone.
Photography is one language I use to express my ideas. Film is another. There is also writing, design, books, mixed media and visual storytelling.
Some ideas are best expressed through a single photograph. Others need a series of images, a film, an editorial story or an entire collection to fully develop.
Room Noir exists to follow that creative curiosity wherever it leads while remaining grounded in the themes that have always inspired the work: beauty, identity, desire, self-expression and the human experience.
The Human Side of the Work
Much of my work is shaped by travel and the people I meet along the way. Every location, collaboration and conversation becomes part of the creative process.
The people I photograph are not simply subjects. They are collaborators whose personalities, experiences and perspectives become part of the work.
That collaborative relationship is especially important when creating intimate or artistic nude photography. Trust and communication create the foundation for photographs that feel authentic rather than simply staged.
I share this creative journey with my fiancée, Nina LaRose, who is also an artist and the creator of Missfit Studios. Together, we believe creativity is one of the most powerful ways to build a meaningful life and that when two people are aligned by love and a shared vision, they can create far more than either could alone.
That spirit of love, collaboration and exploration influences every aspect of Room Noir.

I am a photographer, filmmaker and creative who created Room Noir as a space to pursue the work that genuinely interests me.
My approach is shaped by a combination of photography, travel, storytelling and a lifelong curiosity about people. I am interested in the moments when people become more comfortable being themselves, whether that happens in front of a camera, in conversation, through movement or simply by allowing themselves to be seen.
Room Noir gives me a place to document those moments and turn them into photographs, films, stories and collections that can continue to evolve over time.
An Evolving Body of Work
The Room Noir Project is not a finished thing.
It is an evolving body of contemporary fine art photography and visual storytelling. New people, places, ideas and collaborations continually change the direction of the work.
Some projects become editorial stories. Some become photography collections. Some become films, books, digital publications or fine art prints.
Others simply become part of the archive.
That is what makes Room Noir interesting to me. There is no final version of the project. There is only the next idea, the next person, the next place and the next story.
